Objective

We collaborated with Neon Law to conduct a technical analysis of one of their code repositories. The primary focus of this analysis was to evaluate best practices for handling data and credentials.

Solution

First, we cloned and ran the code repository locally. This step allowed us to understand the requirements for the application to run and observe firsthand how credentials and data are managed during development.

Next, we proceeded with a thorough code analysis, where we carefully examined the Django project’s code to identify how data and credentials were being handled. During this phase, we validated that the data was managed within the code as expected.

Lastly, we reviewed the application’s configuration required for deployment and production environments. We ensured that production-specific configurations were correctly applied where necessary.

Results

We provided Neon Law with a detailed document outlining our findings in relation to best practices for data and credential management. Each finding was accompanied by a suggested action to mitigate potential issues. Additionally, we included a few extra recommendations to improve developer experience and performance.
